Chetham’s Symphony Orchestra

This concert focuses on friendship and all the emotions that surround them.

Elgar’s Enigma Variations describe ‘the friends pictured within’, brought to musical life through foibles, fancies and frolics. Before it we’ll hear Dorothy Howell’s Lamia, itself the description of an ill-fated love.

Liszt – Concerto No 1 in Eb (Bowen)
Séjourné – Marimba Concerto (Marvin)
Howell – Lamia
Elgar – Enigma Variations

Generously sponsored by the Elgar Society as part of its 75th anniversary celebrations during 2026.

Enjoy free Friday night jazz from 5-7pm in the Stoller Hall atrium before the show.
