Piano/Compositions
Sides is the sophomore release of the steadily-rising Paris-based, UK pianist and composer Dave Bristow and his quintet. The album explores the growth of an artist in a society fractured by post-pandemic socio-economic uncertainty and political ambiguity. The music aims to reflect the confusion of these times, through its winding and chaotic improvisations but also offers hope, structure and solace through its accessible melodies and tightly structured compositions. Featuring Olivia Cuttill, Félix Hardouin, Gabriel Pierre and Guillaume Prévost, this forward-thinking oeuvre aims to leave its own unique indelible imprint on the European and international jazz scenes alike.\n\nDave Bristow – Piano/Compositions\nFélix Hardouin – Alto Saxophone\nOlivia Cuttill – Trumpet\nGabriel Pierre – Double Bass\nGuillaume Prévost – Drums\n\n“A beautiful, polished, and varied jazz album that deserves a wide audience” – Jazzism (NL)\n\n“Channels the chaotic spirit of this bebop-fuelled era through a mix of wild improvisation and accessible Hard Bop or Straight Ahead Jazz” – Concerto Magazine (AT)\n\n“Sides showcases Bristow as both a skilled pianist and thoughtful composer.” – Jazz Views (UK)\n\n“A rich, restless jazz mosaic” – Paris Move (FR)\n\n“A captivating performance… positioned squarely at a crossroads between the pianist’s multiple sonic universes” – Jazz Magazine (FR)\n\n“Sure to be a hit in the jazz clubs in Paris” – Salt peanuts (NOR)\n\nArtists on stage: 8.30pm\nCurfew: 11.00pm\nStage: The Copper Bar\nAudience: Unreserved Seating plus Ltd Standing\n\nBook tickets https://bandonthewall.seetickets.com/event/dave-bristow-quintet-sides/copper-bar-band-on-the-wall/3634019\nShare\nAdd to calendar\nGOOGLE https://calendar.google.com/calendar/r/eventedit?dates=20260720T200000/20260720T230000&text=Dave+Bristow+Quintet+%26%238211%3B+Sides&details=%27Sides%27+is+the+%C2%A0sophomore+release+of+the+steadily+rising+Paris-based%2C+UK+pianist+and+composer%2C+Dave+Bristow+and+his+quintet.+The+album+explores+the+growth+of+an+artist+in+a+society+fractured+by+post-pandemic+socio-economic+uncertainty+and+political+ambiguity.+The+music+aims+to+reflect+the+confusion+of+these+times%2C+through+its+winding+and+chaotic+improvisations+but+also+offers+hope%2C+structure+and+solace+through+its+accessible+melodies+and+tightly+structured+compositions.+Featuring+the+talents+of+Olivia+Cuttill%2C+F%C3%A9lix+Hardouin%2C+Gabriel+Pierre%2C+Guillaume+Pr%C3%A9vost%2C+this+forward-thinking+oeuvre+aims+to+leave+its+own+unique+indelible+imprint+on+the+European+and+international+jazz+scenes+alike.%0D%0DDave+Bristow+-+Piano%2FCompositions%0DF%C3%A9lix+Hardouin+-+Alto+Saxophone%0D Olivia+Cuttill+-+Trumpet+%0DGabriel+Pierre+-+Double+Bass%0DGuillaume+Pr%C3%A9vost+-+Drums%0D%0D"
