The Blues Kitchen, Manchester is a lively bar, restaurant, and live music venue located at 13 Quay St, Manchester M3 3HN. Set in a refurbished Victorian eye hospital, it offers a distinct "USA-chic" atmosphere with décor reclaimed from New Orleans and New York.
The building was originally the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital, which opened on the site in 1886.
The designers kept the grand Victorian architecture but filled the inside with reclaimed materials to give it that authentic Southern US feel.
They even brought over an original 1950s Airstream caravan that they actually craned into the building to use as a private dining space. One of the more unique spots in the city—going from a place for eye surgery to a place for bourbon and blues!
